Beginner Mahjong Workshop
Discover the art, strategy, and social fun of American Mahjong! Designed specifically for true beginners, this hands-on workshop will guide you step-by-step through the fundamentals of the game in a relaxed, beautifully curated environment.
What You’ll Learn:
-Tiles: Understanding suits, dragons, winds, and jokers.
-Reading the Card: Decoding line patterns, combinations, and hands.
-Gameplay & Setup: Rack setup, mastering the Charleston, pulling & discarding tiles, and calling for a win!
What Your Ticket Includes:
-Complete guided step-by-step instruction in a small-group setting with an instructor who has been playing since 2006.
-We provide the use of all Mahjong materials needed for play during the workshop. (You will be learning with an Official National Maj Jongg League (NMJL) playing card).
-Take home Instructional sheets and tips.
-Light refreshments to enjoy while we play. And since we are a BYO event space, feel free to come with your favorite bottle of wine or bubbly ~ we will provide glassware for you so you can relax, enjoy and learn something new. (1 (750ml) bottle of wine per guest or (36oz) of beer per guest. Must be 21+ for BYO)
No prior experience or gear required—just bring yourself and a desire to learn! Seats are strictly limited to ensure personal instruction.
